The castle was dark and quiet, most of its members in bed by this point, or, if not, then out late on a mission. Saïx, for his part, was neatly checking and filing away the day’s mission reports, occasionally checking his clipboard for tomorrow’s assignments.
Absently, he reached a hand up and brushed his side bangs back over his shoulder as he leaned over the papers, only to have it slip and fall back to the table anyway. Exhaling softly, he pushed the blue lock away again and moved onto the next paper, which contained the reports of a reconnaissance mission. It was just more of the usual, nothing more than routine to him by this point, and he went through the sheets of paper quickly, golden eyes swiftly scanning through for the highlights of the page before filing it away and moving onto the next one.
Even after everything was in order, he went back and double-checked everything again, just to give him something to do. When that was done, he finally put his things away and stood, hovering awkwardly for a few moments, before he made up his mind and summoned up a portal, dark tendrils surrounding him and whisking him to Axel’s room.
“Axel,” he said by way of greeting, not even bothering to check if the other was even awake.
